Prescribed Fire for Managers

This introduces participants to the basics of planning and conducting prescribed fires including preparing burn plans. It is designed for those interested in conducting prescribed fire as a land management tool. This course work partially fulfills the requirements for the Indiana DNR Certified Prescribed Burn Manager (CPBM) certification.

Learn-N-Burn Woodland RX Workshop – SIPAC

Join Forestry and Wildlife professionals for an introduction to prescribed fire in woodlands. The workshop will cover the benefits of prescribed fire for forest regeneration and wildlife, safety considerations when using prescribed fire, prescribed fire equipment, and technical and cost-share opportunities for private landowners. Learn-N-Burn Grassland RX Workshop – Vermillion

Do you have CRP fields or other native warm-season grass stands on your property? Interested in learning about prescribed fire and other grassland management tools? This workshop will cover CRP and Mid-Contract Management options, including herbicide, interseeding and disking, as well as prescribed fire planning, safety, equipment and a demonstration burn (weather permitting).
